By Thio Isobel Moss
I’ve been seeing a lot of new activity on the website (www.thioisobelmoss.com)—hello and welcome!—so I thought I would offer a brief explanation of some of the things going on here. Most are self-explanatory (About, My Books, Release Schedule, Thio’s Blog, and FAQs), but there are a few oddities.
The Moss Library
I am an avid reader. I love books; I’m a proud member of Ilona Andrew’s Book Devouring Horde. I follow Martha Wells, Vanessa Nelson, Jim Butcher, etc. I also enjoy reviewing books, so I created The Moss Library. This is where I post my reviews. They can also be found on Amazon, Goodreads, and Bookbub.
Free Fiction
There are several scenes exclusive to my website that precede Blind Spot and Bump, as well as the first few chapters of each book.
The Weather Report
This is an experimental venture listing upcoming books, movies, TV shows, music, and games that I’m interested in. A curated TV guide, so to speak. The reason for it is A. I like to keep track of the things I’m interested in, and B. it’s good marketing information. Since I’m already doing it, I might as well share!
**Heads up, authors!**
One method I’ve found for marketing and had success with is that, when there is a highly anticipated release from one of my author comps, on Amazon Ads and Bookbub, I will use that author and upcoming book title in a short ad campaign before and after their release. The first time I broke 1,000 KU pages read, it was because of this method.
This came about because every time I’m waiting for a specific book to drop, I start looking for anything similar to it. Then, after I’ve read that book, I’m not ready to leave fantasyland. I look for similar books and, as it turns out, I’m not the only reader who does so.
This completes this tour. Thank you for visiting, and do come again!
